When we talk about intimacy, many people think it only refers to emotional feelings between a man and a woman. The world thinks that intimacy is all about physical touch, but in reality it’s much more than that, it’s about being connected, connected in a special way, and I’m not talking about the connection that the world has with each other, but about our connection with the creator, the seeking and connection with him, the deepest knowledge and relationship with God.

PSALM 63:1-3

1 ‘O God, you are my God; early in the morning I will seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water,

2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary to see Your power and Your glory.

3 For your lovingkindness is better than life; my lips shall praise you.

Even though God knows everything about us, intentionally sharing our lives is still an important part of having a relationship with God, and in that relationship you need to trust, accept and obey even if you don’t understand, it means giving everything of your life to God, not just gratitude and praise or things that we think are appropriate to say in prayer, but sharing things, moments that we might consider useless in a conversation with God.

When we suddenly realise and understand how much we need God, we automatically crave his presence, and when we’re in front of it, we can’t ignore it or even want to leave. 

Our connection with God makes us desire and respect everything to do with Him, to fear God, I’m not talking about being afraid, thinking about the things we find difficult to understand about God, but about a secret that leads us to know Him in such a strong way, and this intimacy we could never have with anyone or anything.

A level of relationship that is so simple, but at the same time so complex and reciprocal, that only those who know it and those who have it and want to pursue it can understand.

So, KURIAKOS YOUTH, connect with God more and more, not with the aim of seeking in Him the fulfilment of your desires and pleasures of the flesh, but so that you can truly know Him.
